Diesel and gas burn at different temperatures and pressures. Diesel needs a glow (not spark) plug but much higher compression. Gas needs a spark (hotter) plug but lower compression.
So gas in a diesel car will likely not ignite because it's not hot enough.
Diesel in a gas car will likely at best pre-combust throwing the timing off and stalling the engine.
Either case will require you to flush your fuel system and engine out.
